Hyperfixation anxiety often occurs when you feel like you are missing out on things you also want to do because you are too engrossed in something else. In addition, anyone can hyperfixate and struggle with the consequences. While hyperfixation is most often associated with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), it is also a symptom of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Schizophrenia, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), depression, and anxiety disorders. That’s why I like to set clear goals to help me stay on track and concentrate on the right things. Hyperfixation refers to intense focus or concentration that interferes with your ability to function, develop healthy relationships, or be productive. But to manage your tendency to hyperfixate, it’s best to understand it, the symptoms, hyperfixation examples, and the causes. In those negative situations, it is important to learn how to manage hyperfixation so you can be more productive, improve relationships, and get better at time management. Have you ever been working, reading, playing video games, or anything else and you lose track of time because you are intently focused on the activity? Most people have and in some cases, that can be a good thing, but hyperfixation can also cause consequences that can have a negative impact on your life and well-being.
